The History of Miele |

|
|
 |
Miele company based in Gutersloh, Germany manufactures domestic appliances, commercial equipment and fitted kitchens. Miele was founded in 1899 by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann and it's still a family-owned business. Reinhard Zinkann apprenticed and handled finances and sales, while Carl Miele supervised manufacturing personally. Their first products were a cream separator, butter churn, and tub washing machine, under the Meteor brand.
The Miele trademark was used very early on and appeared consistently on all machines, nameplates, printed materials and advertising produced by the company. From the mid-1920s, great importance was attached to the trademark of a sloping dash as the dot on the "i".
As the results of representative market research covering such key criteria as current economic market success and brand recognition and popularity among consumers were many deserved awards and praises. In Munich on February 7, Miele was presented with an award for being the most successful company in Germany in 2007. Also, Miele beat last year's winner Google in the category 'Best Company'. Miele was also successful as 'Best Company', and achieved a top-five place in the category 'Best Product Brand'.
Miele places great value on environmental responsibility. They manufacture products using economical and ecologically compatible processes which not only demonstrate a high level of performance, efficiency and safety, but also place the least possible burden on the environment.
Miele exports products to many global markets and is represented in 37 countries. Miele GB was established in 1963 when Karl Heinz Wedekind was entrusted by Rudolf Miele to set up a sales and marketing subsidiary in Great Britain. Originally operating with a small staff, the company moved to larger premises in Acton in 1972 and, in 1981, to its current purpose-built offices in Abingdon.

Miele currently produces domestic appliances including laundry appliances; vacuum cleaners; dishwashers; rotary irons; built-in convection, steam, and speed ovens; hobs; cooker hoods; and coffee systems. The company also produces commercial wet cleaning machines, lab glassware washers, dental disinfectors, and medical equipment washers. All Miele appliances conserve energy and are designed to last at least 20 years.
Miele positions itself at the upper end of the market for domestic appliances, where competitors include Bosch and Siemens. Our Best Selling Miele Spares are Miele dust Bag type FJM, Miele Tubular handle for S360-S849 and S4000-S5000 machines, Miele Bag type GN, Active air clean filter SF-AAC 30, Dusting brush with natural bristles. |
