Replacement 3amp fuse, for a standard UK 3 pin plug top.
A fuse is designed to protect the cable in any installation, if the current of the circuit exceeds the rating of the fuse it will blow.
Table and floor standing lamps will need a 3amp fuse, because the cable is generally 0.5mm which cannot handle more than 3 amps, so the fuse won't allow any more than 3 amps of current to pass through the cable.
This prevents overheating and fires in the cable.
Having spares 2amp fuses is essential as you do not want to put anything higher in a table or floor standing lamp.
